Master’s degree programs in occupational therapy (OT) aim to prepare students to take for the NBCOT Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) exam.

Pass the (NBCOT) Occupational Therapy Registered (OTR) exam:

A passing score on the Occupational Therapy Registered OTR exam is required to become a licensed occupational therapist Assistant. The OTR is computer-based Exam. There are 3 clinical simulation problems in this exam and 170 multiple choice questions that are designed to evaluate the candidate’s ability to make result about client needs, Obtain information about a client’s occupational performance and the factors that play into that, taking well therapies and manage and direct occupational therapy services.  You will need to pay $540 for OT exam. If you do it online, the charge is $500 for exam. Applicants need to submit their NBCOT Academic Credential Verification Form and undergo a character review. Once you pass the exam, prospective occupational therapists will receive an official Occupational Therapy Assistant certificate from the NBCOT.

Get state licensing:

Occupational therapists need to take licensed in the state in which they want to take practice. Licensure condition vary between states, but they require an NBCOT score, academic records and a background check. Licensing fees are varying and can range from $50 to $240. There may be charge an additional fee for things like finger-printing and temporary licenses. To keep their licensure up to date, occupational therapists Assistant need to take continuing education. They can also continue doctoral degrees to become specialists and gain specialization certifications.
